The Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/0.9

Updated: Sep 25, 2023

The Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/0.9 lens is a new release for Fujifilm X-mount cameras. This lens is said to achieve the fastest aperture among Voigtlander's interchangeable lenses for X-Mount. The Nokton designation is signed with super-bright Voigtlander constructions with lightness below f/1.5. The first lens from this line was presented in the 1950s and, as the name suggests, it was supposed to allow shooting at night – with little light.

Today, in the era of high-sensitive digital matrices, Noctons are synonymous with extremely shallow depth of field and incredibly plastic blurs. The lens tube is made entirely of metal, which is a promise of solidity and precision of work for many years. The lens is designed to work with modern Fujifilm X APS-C matrices and has an electronic system ensuring communication between the lens and the camera. The lens has a focal length of 35mm (70mm) and an aperture range of f0.9 – f22. It has 10 elements in 8 groups and an angle of view of 43.8°. The lens coverage is cropped sensor (EFS / DX), and the thread size is 62mm. The dimensions are 72.7 x 64.9 mm, and it weighs 492g.

Regarding compatibility, the Fujifilm X-mount is a type of interchangeable lens mount designed by Fujifilm for use in those cameras in their X-series line that have interchangeable-lenses. These lenses are designed for 23.6mm x 15.6mm APS-C sensors. The Voigtlander Nokton 35mm F0.9 lens is compatible with Fujifilm X-mount cameras.

In terms of alternatives, there are other Voigtlander lenses available for Fujifilm X-mount cameras, such as the Voigtlander 27mm F2 Ultron and the Voigtlander Nokton 35mm F1.2 SE. Additionally, there are many third-party lenses available for Fujifilm X-mount cameras, including fully manual lenses and autofocus lenses.

Overall, the Voigtlander Nokton 35mm F0.9 lens is a new and exciting option for Fujifilm X-mount camera owners looking for a lens that can achieve extremely shallow depth of field and plastic blurs.
